The physician will then register your name and information with the Florida Department of Health’s Compassionate Use data base. This will allow you to obtain your medical marijuana from a dispensary licensed by the Florida Department of Health.
After you examination, you can login to the state registry and apply for a Medical Marijuana ID Card.

Visit a Licensed medical cannabis dispensary to pick up your medical marijuana 

Patients are eligible to receive a certification for low-THC cannabis or medical marijuana if they suffer from the following conditions:
  • Cancer
  • HIV
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Crohn's disease
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Medical conditions of the same kind or class as or comparable to those above


IS MEDICAL MARIJUANA COVERED BY HEALTH INSURANCE?
As of now, medical marijuana itself is not covered by health insurances.  As such, in spite of Florida approving the use of cannabis in medical treatments, patients have to pay for it out-of-pocket.
